LaTanya has 20+ years of experience in the social sector as a nonprofit executive, philanthropy advisor, and consultant. She has directed impact initiatives on a range of causes to include early childhood education, financial literacy, youth development, and women and girls. She is a 21/64 Certified Advisor in Multigenerational Philanthropy and has experience with private foundations, collective giving, and corporate philanthropy.
Prior to founding CauseAdvance, LaTanya was donor engagement director at the Greater Houston Community Foundation where she managed a portfolio of donor advised funds of $1+ million, revamped donor education, guided grantmaking for three community funds, and facilitated launch of Houston’s first African American Giving Circle.
She initiated the first and only empirical study on the charitable giving patterns of Houston women while serving as executive director of The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston. LaTanya is an experienced facilitator and speaker and is an emerging voice on social change and the power of networks.
She holds an MPAff from The LBJ School of Public Affairs, UT Austin, a BA from Trinity University, and is a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow, completing her Junior Institute at the Goldman School of Public Policy, UC Berkeley. LaTanya is a fifth generation Texan and proud native Houstonian.
